Clash at the Coliseum Race Details
The Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum is a NASCAR race that takes place at the Daytona International Speedway. This speedway is one of the most famous tracks in the world, and it’s the perfect setting for this thrilling race. The track is known for its long straightaways and high-speed turns, making it the perfect place for drivers to showcase their skills and push their cars to the limit.
One of the key features of the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum is the format of the race. Unlike most NASCAR races, the Busch Light Clash is a non-points event, meaning that drivers aren’t competing for a spot in the championship. This allows them to take more risks and put on a show for the fans. With no points on the line, drivers are free to push their cars to the limit and put on an exciting display of speed and skill.
Another unique aspect of the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum is the format of the race itself. This race is made up of two segments, with the first segment being a 25-lap sprint and the second segment being a 50-lap race. This unique format adds an extra layer of excitement and strategy to the race, as drivers will have to make decisions on when to make their moves and how to conserve their tires for the second segment.
The Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum is also a great opportunity for NASCAR fans to see some of the sport’s biggest stars in action. With a limited number of drivers eligible to compete in the race, fans will be treated to a star-studded field of drivers that includes some of the best in the sport. This race is the perfect way to kick off the NASCAR season, as fans get to see their favorite drivers back in action and competing at the highest level.
Clash at the Coliseum Betting Odds (as of Sunday morning)
Christopher Bell is the current favorite at +750, but he has company at the top. Kyle Busch is +800, followed by Kyle Larson at +900. Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin are both +1000, respectively, while William Byron and Joey Logano are +1200, respectively. Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Martin Truex Jr. and Ross Chastain are +1500, respectively.
Clash at the Coliseum Predictions
OPTION 1: Joey Logano (+1200)
The value with Logano is outstanding considering he won this event last year and then went on to claim the NASCR Cup Series title. We don’t have any comps to this race track, so perhaps taking some longshots make sense. That said, considering Bell (+750), Busch (+800), Larson (+900), Elliott (+1000) and Hamlin (+1000) all have better odds than the guy who won the event last year, again, Logano has great value at +1200.
OPTION 2: Kevin Harvick (+2000)
Harvick started out of the gates slow in 2022, then crushed it over the second half of the season. He finished with three top-10 finishes in his final six starts and has excelled at short tracks over his career (he has seven career victories on short tracks). Hailing from Bakersfield, CA, Harvick should be comfortable racing on this surface.
OPTION 3: Ross Chastain (+1500)
Chastain claimed his first two Cup Series wins last season and was the runner-up for the season championship. He’s also showed improvement on short tracks like the one he’ll race on tonight and has secured three top-10 finishes over his last four starts on a short track, which compares to just one over his first 18 appearances. A potential breakout candidate for 2023, Chastain is another strong option to win outright tonight in L.A.
