EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix Predictions
OPTION 1: Jordan Taylor (+2500)
Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott won the inaugural race at Circuit of the Americas back in May of 2021, but he remains sidelined. In steps Taylor, who looks comfortable behind the wheel of the Hendrick car. He produced a speed of 92.404 mph in Saturday morning’s practice session, which was the 10th fastest in today’s field. He then bested that in qualifying, hitting 93.174 mph. He’s in good position today starting fourth and is not your typical fill-in driver.
OPTION 2: A.J. Allmendinger (+1000)
Allmendinger only raced part-time a year ago but do you know which courses he never missed? That’s right: Road races. He was competitive on road courses last season, which includes COTA. In fact, he was in contention for the win in the final turns until he was bumped off track by Ross Chastain, which skewed his results. Allmendinger also finished fifth in the first-ever Cup Series race here two years ago. Since the start of the 2020 season, Allmendinger has one win, four top-five finishes and seven top-10s when racing on 11 of the 15 Cup Series road races. Dude is going to compete today.
OPTION 3: Martin Truex Jr. (+3000)
Despite not finding the winner’s circle in 49 straight races, Truex is another driver with road course success. Over his career, Truex has four road course wins, 13 top-5 finishes and 21 top-10 finishes, which includes a seventh-place finish last year at Circuit of the Americas.
