HighPoint.com 400 Betting Prediction

OPTION 1: Denny Hamlin (+450)

Last year’s race at Pocono was one to remember. Hamlin led the final 18 laps after making contact withRoss Chastain (again), but he and then-teammate Kyle Busch (the 2nd-place finisher) were disqualified after failing post-race inspection. That gave the win to Chase Elliott, who never led a lap in the race that he won. The win would’ve been the 7th career win at Pocono for Hamlin (and third in the last six races there). Instead, he’ll try to break a tie with Jeff Gordon for the most wins at the “Tricky Triangle” on Sunday. Another win also would be the 50th of Hamlin’s Cup Series career. He’d be the 15th driver in series history to reach that milestone, and the 3rd active full-time driver (Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick).

OPTION 2: Chase Elliott (+2500)

Elliott missed six races earlier this season with a leg injury and is now 60 points out with six races to go. He won at the Tricky Triangle last year thanks to Hamlin and Busch’s DQ, plus has never missed the playoffs in his Cup Series career (he’s made the playoffs in seven straight seasons, including three straight Championship four appearances). Elliott has four top-5 finishes and eight top-1o results while leading 67 laps with just one DNF in his 13 career Cup starts at this track.

OPTION 3: Ty Gibbs (+3000)

Gibbs ran the ninth-fastest single lap while posting the fifth-fastest five-lap average and the third-fastest 10-lap average. Just nine cars made 10-lap runs in practice, but Gibbs still race faster than the aforementioned Hamlin and Kevin Harvick. He’s worth a flier as a long-shot.
