Johnson wins in Texas
FORT WORTH, TX (TheSpread) – Jimmie Johnson picked up his second win of the NASCAR season on Saturday night, as he claimed the win in the Duck Commander 500.
Johnson had the strong car of the night, leading 128 laps. However, it was a late pass of Kevin Harvick that allowed him to get the victory. Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a close battle for second, with Harvick edging Dale Jr. at the finish line.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Johnson entered the week with 6/1 odds to win this race, which means a wager of $100 on him to prevail will pay out an additional $600.
Johnson now joins Harvick as the lone drivers with multiple wins in 2015. Harvick retains his points lead by 26 on the field, while Johnson moves up to sixth, 90 points behind Harvick. Joey Logano is in second in the standings after finishing fourth on Saturday night.
