Johnson the 2015 favorite

LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – Jimmie Johnson has grown accustomed to winning NASCAR Sprint Cup Championships but failed to do so in 2014. Can he get back on top in 2015?

View Current NASCAR Odds

Johnson was a casualty of the new Chase format system of eliminations. He failed to get to the final race for it all and ended up in 11th place in the year-end standings. Johnson finished the season with four wins and 11 top 5s.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Johnson is the favorite to win the Sprint Cup title in 2015, as he has 5/1 odds to win it all. The next shortest odds belong to Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick, who each have 6/1 odds.

Johnson is a six-time Sprint Cup champion, winning titles from 2006-2010 and then following that up with another title in 2013. Johnson’s 11th-place finish in the series last year was the worst he has had in his full-time Sprint Cup career. Look for a motivated Johnson to bounce back strong this season.
