Johnson is a 6-time winner of the Sprint Cup Championship, last winning in 2013. He was eliminated after the second round of the Chase last season. Johnson had one win in 2015.

Busch won his first Sprint Cup Championship a year ago. Despite an injury that forced him to miss a big chunk of the season, he won five races and had 12 top-5 finishes.
