The AAA Texas 500 will get underway this afternoon from Texas Motor Speedway. Here are some drivers we think will contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick are co-favorites to win this race, as each has 4/1 odds. Brad Keselowski has 9/2 odds while Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch each have 6/1 odds. The AAA Texas 500 takes place today at 2:16PM ET from Texas Motor Speedway.
Joey Logano is a co-favorite and we think he will have a big showing today as he is desperate for a win after finishing near the back last week after being wrecked by Matt Kenseth. Logano is 28 points out of fourth place in the standings with two races before the final cut. He already has a win at this track and is starting in fourth position. Look for him to be one of the top drivers all Sunday.
Kevin Harvick is a co-favorite with Logano and we like him today as well. While he is currently in fourth in the standings, a win would lock up a spot in the final race for the title. Though he has never won at Texas, he has an average finish of 12.7 at the track and a driver rating of 87.4. He is starting in second position and should be a strong contender to win.
Ryan Newman has long odds of 100/1 to win today, but he is a former winner at Texas and has three top-5 finishes at the track in his career. Newman is starting in 19th position today and he has been pretty steady as of late, finishing 15th or better in six of his last seven races. If you are looking for a big pay day, Newman may be your driver.
