AAA Texas 500 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series will wave the green flag for the AAA Texas 500 this afternoon. Here’s three drivers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kevin Harvick is favored to win this race, as he is getting odds of +275 to win. Other short odds to prevail are Kyle Busch (+325), Martin Truex Jr. (+400) and Brad Keselowski (+700), The AAA Texas 500 takes place today at 3PM ET from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. The race will air live on the NBC Sports Network.
52013 Kyle Busch +325
Busch is the top driver in the standings right now and he also has the best numbers of the eight drivers left in the field when it comes to results at Texas. Busch is a three-time winner at this track with an average finish of 11.6 over 25 races. His driver rating at the track is 101.9. Busch doesn’t need the win urgently, as he is in good shape to make the final four, but he consistently performs well at Texas and I think he will do it again today.
52005 Chase Elliott +1000
Elliott doesn’t have a lot of experience at Texas, competing in just five races over his career, but he has finished in the top 10 four times. His average finish at the track is 7.4, while his driver rating at Texas is 95.3. Elliott is currently sixth in the standings right now and needs a lot of help to make the top 4 over the next two weeks. A win will do the trick, so I like him to be aggressive today and make a push at a track that he has been pretty strong at.
52010 Clint Bowyer +2000
Bowyer is in a similar position to Elliott, as he is seventh in the point standings coming into today’s race. Bowyer is likely going to have to pick up a win over the next two weeks. While his numbers at Texas aren’t great (15.8 average finish/85.1 driver rating), the situation he is in provides some betting value. He has long odds due to his poor history, but the stakes are high for him today and I expect him to have a strong run to keep his championship hopes alive.
