Bank of America Roval 400 Picks
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series wraps up the first stage of the 2018 Chase with the Bank of America Roval 400 later this afternoon. Here are the drivers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kyle Busch is favored to win this race, as he is getting 3/1 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Martin Truex Jr. (7/2), Kevin Harvick (8/1), Brad Keselowski (8/1) and Chase Elliott (8/1). The Bank of America Roval 400 takes place Sunday at 2PM ET from Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Roval course in Concord, North Carolina.
52014 Kyle Busch 3/1
Busch isn’t in desperation mode for this race as he is safely on to the next stage, but he is one of the better road drivers in the series. He finished in the top 5 at both road courses this year and has won multiple road courses throughout his entire NASCAR career. Charlotte has been a good place for him as well, so the combination of the different tracks shouldn’t be an issue for him.
52006 Chase Elliott 8/1
Elliott is currently ninth in the point standings, but just 10 points ahead of the dreaded 13th position. He will need a good run today to make sure he advances in the Chase. Elliott won the road race at Watkins Glen this year and was fourth at Sonoma. He also has strong numbers in previous races in Charlotte. Given the urgency he should have, I expect Elliott to be among the top contenders today.
52011 Clint Bowyer 10/1
Bowyer finds himself in the 13th position in the standings right now, four points out of 12th. Bowyer has two wins two his credit for the year and he had a top-3 finish at Sonoma. He has won on road courses before in his career and also won at Charlotte during his career. I think he has good value with the 10/1 odds given his experience, success and need of a strong performance today.
