Brad Keselowski has 12/1 odds to win today but we like those odds. He starts 11th, which shouldn’t be an issue on the fast and open track. He is a three-time winner at Talladega with an average finish of 15.6, which is right up there with the top drivers. Currently tied for seventh in the standings, he knows he needs a strong run today to advance to the next stage, so look for him to drive a smart race and push for the win.
Kurt Busch has 18/1 odds to win today. He also could use a win to lock up his spot in the next stage of the Chase, as he is only 7 points ahead of eighth place in the standings. He starts 14th today and is at a track where he has a driver rating of 88.3, which ranks fifth in today’s field. If Busch can avoid the big wreck, he could provide a really nice payout at 18/1.
Aric Almirola is a long shot to win with 50/1 odds. He starts from the 25th position today, but it is easy to make up ground at this track. He has been running strong as of late, with four top 10s and two top 5s in his last six races. We think that is a trend that will continue today. We expect him to be in the mix at the end, and then, with a little luck, he could secure his second victory. His first was at Daytona, another restrictor plate race.
