Ford EcoBoost 400 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series waves the green flag on the final race of the year, the Ford EcoBoost 400 this afternoon. Here’s our picks for which drivers we like to win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kevin Harvick is favored to win this race, as he is getting odds of +250 to win. Other short odds to prevail are Kyle Busch (+300), Kyle Larson (+325) and Martin Truex Jr. (+400). The Ford EcoBoost 400 takes place today at 2:30PM ET from Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida.
52003 Kevin Harvick +250
Harvick is one of the four drivers competing for a title today. He is seeking his second series championship and coming to a track that he has been very good at. Over his career of 17 races, Harvick owns one win and an average finish of 6.8 at Homestead. His driver rating there is 106.8. He has finished in the top five of this race four straight years and should be pushing hard for the win today.
52013 Kyle Busch +300
Busch is also looking to claim another NASCAR championship today. He won this race in 2015 and was second last year. Busch doesn’t have the best stats at Homestead, but he is a great driver that knows how to win. His average finish at the track is just 18.5, while his driver rating is 98.9. This season has largely been about Busch and Harvick and I think it will come down to these two today. Busch certainly has the ability to earn the victory.
52017 Joey Logano +900
Of the four drivers in the Chase, Logano has the longest odds. I think that gives him more value over Truex, the defending champion. Logano has never won at Homestead, and his driver rating is just 89.0, but you have to feel good about getting him at 9/1 odds with a championship on the line. Logano has finished sixth or better in this race the last three years. I like him to push the leaders and possibly steal the championship today.
