GEICO 500 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Series will compete on one of the fastest tracks in racing for the GEICO 500. Here’s some drivers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano are favored to win today, as each have 8/1 odds. Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer and Denny Hamlin each have 10/1 odds to win. The GEICO 500 is set to take place today at 2PM ET from Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.
51102 Joey Logano 8/1
Of today’s favorites, I like Logano the best. He has put together three wins at Talladega in his career and is the defending champion of this race. His numbers at the track are solid, as his average finish is 17.0 and his driver rating is 89.0. That driver rating ranks third in today’s field. Logano has five top-5 finishes this year as well, so I think he continues his strong 2019 at a track he’s been good at.
51109 Chase Elliott 12/1
Elliott is just outside the favorites today, but he has dome pretty well in six races at Talladega. While he has yet to win, he has a pair of top-5 finishes and a 16.2 average finish with a 91.3 driver rating. He is just one of two drivers with a rating over 90 for this track. Elliott hasn’t had the best start to the year, but he has been consistently in the top 15. He could use a breakout performance today and I think it could come here.
51110 Kurt Busch 16/1
Busch is a veteran to consider today. He has some longer odds at 16/1, but Talladega has been a good track for him. He has an average finish of 15.4 at the track and a driver rating of 90.5. Busch has 19 top-10 finishes at Talladega as well. Busch is having a pretty solid year thus far with six top-10 finishes and only one finish outside the top 12. He was runner-up here last year, but I think he can earn the victory today.
