Jeff Gordon is competing at Martinsville for the final time and we like him to win in his final appearance. He is starting in fifth position and is an eight-time winner at this track. His average finish there is an impressive 5.2 and his driver rating is 119.1, which is second in the field. Gordon is still in the hunt for the championship as well, so a win advances him to the championship race. Look for him to be on his game today.
Joey Logano has won three straight races. Can he make it three? We think so. He is starting in the pole position and also still in the chase to win the title, so a win today means more than the previous two he has picked up. Logano has never won at Martinsville, but he has been as strong as anyone over the last month and we want to continue to ride this hot streak.
Ryan Newman has 50/1 odds to win today, but we think he is a good dark horse contender. He is starting in seventh position and coming to a track where he already has a win in his career. Newman has eight top 5’s at Martinsville and that is something to consider. He has long odds for a reason, but the opportunity is there for a big cash in if Newman stays out of trouble.
