The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series is in the thick of the 2018 season and the championship picture is starting to take shape. Here’s a look at the latest odds to win it all.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Martin Truex Jr. is the favorite to repeat as champion, as he is getting +260 odds. Other short odds to win are Kevin Harvick (+300), Kyle Busch (+350) and Kyle Larson (+700).
Truex Jr. is the defending champion and he has been on a bit of a roll lately. He is currently third in points after racking up four wins and 13 top-5 finishes this season. Truex has finished first or second in four of the last six races. He is looking to become the first repeat champion under the next playoff format.
Harvick sits second in the points right now and has a series-best five wins with 14 top-5 finishes in 2018. Harvick was the 2014 series champion and he has reached the Final 4 in the standings in four of the last five years.
From a points’ perspective, Busch is the leader by 59 on the field this year. He has matched Harvick with five wins and 15 top-10 finishes. Busch was the 2015 champion and has reached the Final 4 the last two years as well.
Larson is having a quiet season despite being eighth in the point standings right now. He is winless on the year and has just six top-5 finishes. Larson hasn’t ever reached the final race of the playoffs, finishing eighth last year and ninth in 2016.
