Brickyard 400 Predictions
Which driver will come away with the win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and be the champion of the Brickyard 400 later today?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Martin Truex Jr. is the favorite to win this race, as he is getting 3/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Kyle Busch (7/2) and Kyle Larson (11/2). The Brickyard 400 takes place Sunday at 2:30PM ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana.
It’s getting a bit tiresome, but I have to keep picking Kyle Busch. He has been unstoppable at this track the last two years, taking home the win in both instances. He also has had a lot of success in the Xfinity Series at The Brickyard. Busch is not having a great 2017 season in regards to wins. He is winless, which is very uncommon for him. That streak has to end at some point and this track is certainly one of Busch’s better ones. His average finish at Indy is 9.0 and his driver rating is 105.5.
Jimmie Johnson has 15/2 odds for today’s race and he is certainly no stranger to winning at Indy. Johnson is a four-time victory at The Brickyard with an average finish of 14.6 and a driver rating of 105.7. Johnson has finished 10th or worse in six straight races, so he will be eager to snap out of a really bad funk today. I see that happening at a track he has been very successful at. Look for Johnson to be right there with Busch at the end.
Joey Logano is another driver in somewhat of a funk that could bounce back today. He is listed with 18/1 odds today, which are quite large for a driver of his ability. However, Logano has finished outside the top 20 in seven of his last 10 races. Logano hasn’t won at Indy in his career, but he has a respectable 90.1 driver rating and has finished eighth or better the last four years. I look for another good run from Logano today and consider him a great dark horse pick.
