Federated Auto Parts 400 Picks
The 2017 NASCAR Monster Energy Series waves the green flag on the Federated Auto Parts 400 tonight. Here are some drivers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. are co-favorites this week, as each has +425 odds. Other short odds to win are Denny Hamlin (+500) and Matt Kenseth (+650). The Federated Auto Parts 400 takes place tonight at 7:30PM ET from Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia.
Kyle Busch has numbers that are hard to ignore at Richmond. He is a four-time winner with 15 top-5 finishes in 24 races. Busch’s average finish at this track is 7.3, which is remarkable given how many races he has competed in. His driver rating at the track is among the best in the field today, at 109.8. Busch has been coming on strong toward the tail end of the regular season, so I can see him adding another win tonight.
Kevin Harvick has +700 odds tonight and those are great odds for him at one of his best tracks. Harvick has three wins at Richmond and 21 top-10 finishes in 33 races. Harvick’s average finish at the track is 10.3, while his driver rating is 110.4. He has just one win on the year, so it would be a nice addition for him to get another win before the playoffs to push him closer to the top of the standings next week. I like Harvick to be the man to beat tonight.
Joey Logano is in a must-win situation. Despite having a win, a failed post-race inspection kept it from allowing him into the postseason. Logano won’t qualify on points either, so he must get the victory clean tonight. Logano already picked up the win at Richmond in the spring, so he has momentum for tonight’s race. At Richmond, Logano has won twice in his career and has an average finish of 12.5. His desperation could push him to a win tonight. At +900 odds, there is a lot of value for him.
