GEICO 500 Predictions

The green flag for the GEICO 500 will be waved later today. Here are some drivers we like to contend for this NASCAR victory.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Brad Keselowski, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Joey Logano are all co-favored to win this race. The three drivers are listed with 9/1 odds to win this weekend. The GEICO 500 takes place on Sunday at 2PM ET from Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.

Bet on the GEICO 500

Dale Earnhardt Jr. needs a great showing today as he sits 24th in the standings right now. With this being his final season, he certainly will be looking to go hard at a track like Talladega. He is three-time winner of this race, last winning in 2015. He has a total of six wins in his career at Talladega. He has an average finish of 18.957 at the track and a driver rating of 92.0. He should be pushing the leaders all day and I see him getting the win.

Matt Kenseth has 15/1 odds for today’s race. Kenseth has pretty good numbers at Talladega, winning once in his career with an average finish of 18.458. He also has a driver rating of 88.0 at this track, which ranks fourth in today’s field. Kenseth needs his first win of the year as well, so look for him to push the leaders today as well.

Jamie McMurray is a dark horse I like today. He has 28/1 odds for this race. He comes to Talladega as a two-time winner of this race. While his average finish is just 18.873 and his driver rating there is only 80.4, he has winning experience at Talladega. McMurray has been pretty consistent this year, finishing in the top 10 in five races. At a track like this, where a big wreck can open the door for an upset, McMurray is a guy that can take advantage of that.
