Crown Royal 400 Odds
After a wild weekend at Talledega, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads back to the short tracks for the Crown Royal 400 at Richmond.
NASCAR odds for the 2009 Crown Royal 400 have Jimmie Johnson listed as a 4.5/1 favorite according to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog. A winning wager on Johnson would pay $450 for every $100 wagered. In 14 career Richmond starts Johnson has three wins, four top 5’s, four top 10’s and an average finish of 17.5.
Behind Johnson at 6/1 odds to win the 2009 Crown Royal 400 are Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch. This is surprising because neither driver has ever won at Richmond. Busch has six top 5’s, six top 10’s and an average finish of 6.8 in eight career starts, but has only finished outside the top 5 twice (2007, 2008). Meanwhile, Hamlin has three top 5’s, four top 10’s and an average finish of 8.8 in six career starts. Hamlin is a native of Virginia.
Rounding out the top 5 favorites to win the 2009 Crown Royal 400 are Tony Stewart at 7/1 and Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch all tied at 8/1. All four drivers have previous Richmond victories (Stewart 3 Gordon 2, Martin 1, Busch 1).
