Food City 250 Odds
The NASCAR Nationwide Series resumes its 2009 season on Friday, Aug. 21 with the
Points leader Kyle Busch is the pre-race favorite to win at
Busch carries a betting line of +250 according to online sports book Sportsbook.com. Other short odds to win are Kevin Harvick (+450), Carl Edwards (+500), Clint Bowyer (+800), and Matt Kenseth (+800).
Busch leads the Nationwide series by 339 points and is tops of any driver with his six victories on the year. In 23 races, Busch has finished in the top 10 20 times and the top five 17 times. Busch has finished in the top three in the last 11 races.
Harvick has taken part in 15 Nationwide races and won one time in 2009. Harvick is the 2000 and 2001 winner of the Food City 250 and has finished in the top five in each of his last two Nationwide races.
Edwards sits second in the points standings and is coming off a 40th place finish last week at Michigan International Speedway, his worst finish in 2009. Prior to last week, Edwards had finished sixth or better in his last eight races.
Bowyer has driven in just six races this year for the Nationwide series, and has finished in the top three in four of those outings, including a win on July 3 in the Subway Jalapeno 250.
Kenseth is a two-time winner of the Food City 250, with his most recent win coming in 2006. Kenseth ahs driven in eight Nationwide races in 2009 and has four top five finishes with one victory.
