Vickers takes the pole
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series held qualifying for the Carfax 400 on Friday and Brian Vickers picked up his sixth pole of the season.

Johnson is a 4/1 favorite to win the race according to oddsmakers at the online sportsbook SPORTSBETTING. Other short odds to win are Mark Martin (5/1), Carl Edwards (7/1), Tony Stewart (9/1), Greg Biffle (10/1), and Vickers (10/1).
Johnson has not won at MIS, but will start fourth on Sunday. Johnson has finished 13th or better in his last seven races. Johnson has three wins on the season, which ranks third amongst all drivers.
Martin had four wins in 2009, which ties him with Stewart for most of any driver. Martin qualified second and has won at MIS three times.
Edwards is the defending champion at MIS, winning the 3M Performance 400 last year in
Stewart has 10-straight top 10 finishes, including a win on Monday at Watkins Glen for his fourth win of the season. Stewart is ahead in the points standings by 260 points over Johnson. Stewart qualified 18th for Sunday’s race.
Biffle will start 17th on Sunday while the pole sitter, Vickers, had the best qualifying time with a speed of 187.242 miles per-hour.
