Johnson leads the way
Jimmie Johnson won the pole for Sunday’s Ford 400 from Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday, improving his odds to win the race and the Sprint Cup Championship.
Johnson is a 7/2 favorite to win the race according to oddsmakers at the online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are Mark Martin (9/2), Tony Stewart (7/1), and Greg Biffle (10/1).
Johnson will likely race conservatively on Sunday, as he needs to finish 25th or better to win his fourth-straight Sprint Cup Championship. Johnson has never won on this track, but has five top-10 finishes in eight starts. Johnson has won three of his last six races.
Martin has not won at this trick, but has four top-five finishes in nine starts. Martin has finished fourth in back-to-back races and has finished in the top eight in 10 of his last 12 races. Martin will start fourth on Sunday.

Biffle is seventh in the standings and will start eighth on Sunday. Biffle has three wins at this track in his career, but if he hasn’t won, he has finished 13th or worse.
