Can-Am Duel 1 Predictions

The lineup for Sunday’s Daytona 500 will be figured out tonight with the Can-Am Duels. Here’s our picks for Duel No. 1 tonight.

The Can-Am Duels are a pair of 150-mile races at Daytona International Speedway. Drivers compete in one of the two duels and the finishing order sets up the respective starting lanes for Sunday’s Daytona 500. The top two pole positions are locked in based on Sunday’s qualifying, but the rest of the field is settled tonight. The first duel will be held at 7PMET on air on FS1. According to the latest oddsmakers at YouWager, Brad Keselowski is the favorite in this duel with 3/1 odds. Other short odds are Joey Logano (4/1) and Jimmie Johnson (6/1).

Bet on Can-Am Duel Odds

Joey Logano has 4/1 odds, which is a little risky with him due to his inconsistency, but Logano has a top-10 rating at Daytona. He also hasn’t been able to pick up victories at this track, but this opening Duel is lacking in a lot of successful drivers. I think Logano has the potential to lead the pack and pick up the victory.

Jimmie Johnson could take advantage of a rather weak field in the first Duel. His 6/1 odds are nice as he has a strong history at Daytona with three wins in his career. He also has two duel victories. His experience at the track should help against a lot of unproven drivers tonight. The multi-time NASCAR champion is always a driver to consider and I think he will be the driver to beat tonight in this race.

Jamie McMurray has 22/1 odds to win this Duel and I think that is great value for him. McMurray is a driver that has had some success at Daytona. He is a former Daytona 500 winner and has made the Chase the last three years. McMurray is consistently in the mix in most races and I think he has above-average odds to win tonight because of the lesser field.
