Coca-Cola 600 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series holds its longest race of the year this evening with the running of the Coca-Cola 600. Here’s the drivers we think will contend for the victory tonight.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kevin Harvick is the favorite to win this race, as he has +300 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Kyle Busch (+350), Martin Truex Jr. (+450) and Kyle Larson (+600). The Coca-Cola 600 takes place today from Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. The race begins at 6PM ET and will air live on FOX.
12903 Kevin Harvick +300
Harvick has won this race two times before and is a three-time winner at Charlotte. He is on a roll right now, winning five races this year including the last two. Harvick has a total of nine top-5 finishes in 12 races for 2018. Now he heads to Charlotte, where he has an average finish of 13.692 and a driver rating of 91.0. I expect Harvick to continue his hot streak tonight.
12935 Martin Truex Jr. +450
Truex is also a former winner of this race as well, claiming the victory in 2016. When it comes to his career at Charlotte, he has two victories with an average finish of 15.1 and a driver rating of 88.5. Truex Jr. is coming off his 2017 series championships and has one win this year with six other top-5 finishes. Truex has finished in the top 5 of this race the last three years and I expect him to be right in the mix again tonight.
12908 Denny Hamlin +1200
Denny Hamlin has not won at Charlotte in his career, but his numbers there are pretty strong. He has eight top-5 finishes here with an average finish of 12.4 and a driver rating of 96.4. His driver rating ranks third in today’s field. He finished fifth in this race last year and fourth in 2016. Hamlin is winless this year, but has finished in the top 20 in all but one race and in the top 5 in five races. Hamlin has shown a consistency to be near the front this year and I think he has a great chance to break through at Charlotte tonight.
