NextEra Energy Resources 250 Picks
Which NASCAR Truck Series drivers may break out from the pack to win the NextEra Energy Resources 250? Here’s our predictions for the race.
According to the latest oddsmakers at YouWager, Johnny Sauter is the favorite in this race, as he has +375 odds to win. Other short odds to win are David Gilliland (+450), Matt Crafton (+575) and Noah Gragson (+575). The NextEra Energy Resources 250 takes place tonight at 7:30PM ET from Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Johnny Sauter is the lone two-time winner of this race that is in the field tonight. His last win came in 2016 and he also finished third in the 2014 race. Sauter had a strong 2017 season, gathering four wins and eight other top-3 finishes. He is the most experienced driver to consider wagering on and is someone consistently near the front of the pack.
Ben Rhodes has +600 odds to win tonight and I think that can be a nice payout. Rhodes is entering this race for the third time. He was seventh in 2016 and 12th a year ago. The young driver has been showing improvement over the last two years and broke through with his first win late last season in Las Vegas. Tonight’s field is full of a lot of unproven drivers and of that group, Rhodes shines a little brighter than the rest. He actually has some experience and winning knowledge to rely on, which should come in handy against nervous drivers.
John Hunter Nemechek is listed with +1100 odds tonight and I think that is really strong value for him. Nemechek was fourth in this race a year ago with a stronger field than what you will see tonight. He also was a two-time winner in 2017 and 2016. JHN has a resume that is better than the odds he is being given. In a crap shoot of a race like this, with so many unproven drivers, I feel good about him breaking through the pack and possibly giving you a massive payout.
