Edwards wins at Darlington

DARLINGTON, SC (TheSpread) – Carl Edwards was fastest off of pit road late, which allowed him to get a victory in the Bojangles’ Southern 500 on Sunday night.

View Current NASCAR Odds

Edwards had a late pass of Brad Keselowski, as the two battled back and forth, but the race came down to a restart, which allowed Edwards to start up front and keep Keselowski off him. Keselowski ended up in second while Denny Hamlin was third.

According to the latest oddsmakers, Edwards came into the week with 8/1 odds to win, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $800.

Edwards now has two wins on the year, making him a strong contender to start the Chase for the Championship in a few weeks. Kevin Harvick, the points leader, had another top-5 finish, coming in 5th. Joey Logano remains second in the points after finishing fourth on Sunday night.
