Hamlin wins in Chicago
Denny Hamlin started the Chase for the Championship off right as he won the MyAFibRisk.com 400 on Sunday in Chicago.
Hamlin pulled out a risky move by staying out during a caution flag. It proved to be the right call as he was able to lead the final laps and hold off Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch for the victory and punch his ticket into the next stage of the Chase.
According to oddsmakers, Hamlin had 12/1 odds to win this race coming into the week, which means a $100 wager on him will pay out an additional $1,200.
Kevin Harvick had a rough start, as he finished 42nd after getting in an early wreck. He fell back to 16th in the standings because of it and could find himself out of the running after two more races unless he can put up a win or two strong showings. Matt Kenseth is now the points leader by 2 over Hamlin as Kenseth finished fifth on Sunday.
