Logano wins again
Joey Logano didn’t necessarily need a win on Sunday, but he got it, winning the Hollywood Casino 400.
Logano was battling with Matt Kenseth during the race and ultimately spun Kenseth, which allowed Logano to get the win, his second straight. Kenseth ended up in 14th place for the race. Logano had already punched his ticket to the next round of the Chase with last week’s win, while Kenseth needed the win after a poor finish last week.
According to oddsmakers, Logano had 8/1 odds to win Sunday’s race, which means that a $100 wager on him to prevail will pay out an additional $800.
Logano has a 12-point lead on the field in the standings while Kenseth is currently 12th, 61 points out of first and 37 points out of eighth. He likely needs a win next week to keep his title hopes alive. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch are all on the outside looking in right now with one race left in the second stage of the Chase. Dale Jr. is 31 points out of eighth while Newman is 8 points back and Busch is 6.
