Kenseth dominates on Saturday
Matt Kenseth entered the Chase for the Championship with plenty of momentum as he came out the winner of the Federated Auto Parts 400 on Saturday night.
Kenseth had the dominant car all night, leading 352 laps to come away with the victory, which is his fourth of the season. That puts him in a tie with Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch for most this year and those three will now start in first in the new point standings with the Chase set to begin next week. Busch came in second on Saturday while Johnson finished ninth.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kenseth started the week with 8/1 odds to win this race, which means a wager of $100 on him to prevail will pay out an additional $800.
The Chase field is now set with Kenseth, Busch and Johnson in first. Joey Logano is three points back with three wins this year while Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick are six points back with two wins on the year. Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. are nine points pack while Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman and Paul Menard were the five to qualify on points. They all start 12 points back.
