South Point 400 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series waves the green flag for the South Point 400 later today. Here’s our the drivers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch are co-favorites, as each is getting +275 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Martin Truex Jr. (+400) and Kyle Larson (+600). The South Point 400 takes place Sunday at 3PM ET from Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada.
52013 Kyle Busch +275
It’s playoff time and Busch is someone you have to like this time of year. A former playoff championship winner, Busch is strong at most tracks and Vegas is no different. Busch has one win at Vegas Motor Speedway in his career over 14 races. His driver rating there is 103.4, which ranks second in today’s field. Expect Busch to be right in the mix for the win.
52033 Martin Truex Jr. +400
Truex Jr. had a tremendous playoff run last year on his way to the championship. He has followed it up with a strong 2018 season and now he is primed to defend his title. Truex has four wins on the year and he is a former winner at Las Vegas as well. He has a driver rating of 92.6 at the track and an average finish of 12.5. Truex has been in a down spell, but I think he snaps out of it with things really on the line now.
52001 Brad Keselowski +1000
Brad Keselowski is one of the few drivers with multiple wins at Las Vegas in this field. He has an average finish of 14.5 at the track and a driver rating of 92.4. A former series champion in his own right, Keselowski is heating up at the right time. He has won the last two races in the series to push him up the playoff standings to get things started. He has finished seventh or better in the last six races at Vegas and I think he takes this current momentum and has another strong run today.
