Auto Club 500 Odds
A week after the NASCAR Super Bowl, the 2008 Daytona 500, winner (and 30/1 underdog) Ryan Newman again finds himself getting very little respect from oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog. Newman who broke an 81 race winless streak with his victory in the 50th Daytona 500, will start the Auto Club 500 at California Speedway as a 20/1 underdog.
The favorites once again will be the Hendrick Motorsports “dynamic duo” of Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Despite some serious struggles in the season opener Gordon and Johnson lead the 2008 Auto Club 500 betting odds at 6/1 according to Bodog oddsmakers. If Gordon and Johnson are able to make the oddsmakers predictions a reality, each $100 wager would pay $600.
