Goody’s 500 Odds
After taking the week off for Easter, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is back in action this weekend at Martinsville Speedway for the Goody’s Cool Orange 500. This weekend’s race will be the first week that the 2008 Cup Series Points come into play. Because qualifying is so tight at this track several drivers with odds to win listed for this weeks race have a serious chance of not making the field.
Roush-Fenway Racing driver Jamie McMurray is probably the most recognizable name on the outside looking in. McMurray has struggled in 2008 and now finds himself needing to make the field on time instead of having the guaranteed cushion of being in the top 35.

Despite not scoring a win so far in 2008, Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are again leading the odds to win for this weeks Sprint Cup race. Johnson and Gordon are both listed at 5/1 odds to win the 2008 Goody’s Cool Orange 500 according to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog.
Bodog oddsmakers have odds listed on 33 individual drivers for this weekend’s race. The longest shot this week would be Gnassi Racing driver Dario Franchitti. If Franchitti – who is also outside the top 35 in owners points was able to make and win the race, he would pay an incredible 150/1.
