Dodge Challenger Odds
2007 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson is the favorite to win the Dodge Challenger 500 this weekend at Darlington Raceway according to Oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog.
Johnson has two wins at Darlington in his career and has the only win so far in 2008 for his team, Hendrick Motorsports.
Bodog Oddsmakers have listed Johnson at 6/1 odds to win the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Dodge Challenger 500.
In 8 career starts at Darlington Johnson has finished in the top 10 every time and has an average finish of 6.8 which includes five top 5 finishes.
Rounding out the top three are Carl Edwards at 6.5/1 who only has four starts at this track to Johnson’s eight with an average finish of 15 and Denny Hamlin who is also at 6.5/1.
Neither Edwards nor Hamlin has ever won at Darlington. Hamlin’s average finish is 6.0 in only two Sprint Cup Series starts.
Prior to Dodge Challenger 500 Pole Qualifying, odds to win were available on 45 different drivers at Bodog although only 43 cars will start Saturday’s race.
Long shots currently listed at 20/1 include: Bill Elliott, Michael McDowell, John Andretti, Kyle Petty, David Gilliland and Joe Nemechek. Kyle Petty has the best average finish out of these drivers at 22.3. Michael McDowell has never been to this track before. A winning wager on any of these drivers would pay $2000 for every $100 bet.
Last years 2007 Dodge Avenger 500 winner Jeff Gordon is currently listed at +700 odds to win.
This year’s Dodge Challenger 500 will be held at 7pm on Saturday May 10, 2008. Television coverage will be provided by FOX and FOX HD.
