AAA Texas 500 Picks
The AAA Texas 500 is set to wave the green flag later today. Here are some drivers we like to contend for the win this afternoon.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Kyle Busch is favored to win this race, as he has +400 odds. Other short odds to win are Jimmie Johnson (+425), Kevin Harvick (+500) and Martin Truex Jr. (+550). The AAA Texas 500 takes place today at 2:15PM ET from Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, TX.
Kyle Busch is the favorite because he has great numbers at Texas. He is a two-time winner with an average finish of 11.9 and a driver rating of 102.9. Sitting in fourth place in the standings, Busch is in a good spot, but he also could use a win to secure his place in the final race to have a shot to repeat as Sprint Cup champion.
Carl Edwards has 10/1 odds to win this race and we think there is great value there. Sitting last in the point standings right now, and a long ways from fourth, Edwards needs some strong runs the next two weeks, or a win. Texas has been a good track for him, as he is a three-time winner there. His driver rating is 97.6, which ranks fourth in today’s field.
Matt Kenseth also has 10/1 odds today and we like those numbers for him as well. Sitting in third in the standings, Kenseth isn’t as desperate as Edwards, but he still needs to lock up his spot in the finale. Kenseth is a two-time winner at Texas and his average finish there is 9.5. He has the second-best driver rating of anyone in today’s field at 104.9.
