STP 500 Predictions
The NASCAR Monster Energy Series continues its 2019 season today with the running of the STP 500 in Virginia. Here’s three drivers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kyle Busch is favored to win, as he is listed with 2/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Joey Logano (9/2), Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. (7/1). The STP 500 is set to take place today at 2PM ET from Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Virginia.
Kyle Busch 2/1
Busch is a former winner of this race and two-time winner at this track. He has also finished second in this race the last two years. He has an average finish of 12.3 at the track and a driver rating of 104.2. Busch is on a roll right now, winning the last two races in the series while finishing sixth or better in all five races of 2019. While he’s on a hot streak, it’s probably worth continuing to go with him at the betting window.
Denny Hamlin 15/2
Hamlin is a three-time winner of this event, last picking up the win in 2015. Hamlin ranks second in the field in terms of driver rating at Martinsville. He has a 107.0 rating with an average finish of 9.8 over 26 races. For his career, Hamlin has five wins at the track. Hamlin has placed 11th or better in every race this year, including a win at Daytona. I expect him to continue his strong start to 2019 today at one of his best tracks.
Kevin Harvick 10/1
It’s not often you will get a chance to get Kevin Harvick with odds these high, but Martinsville hasn’t been a great track for him. His average finish over 35 races is 15.3, and his driver rating is 94.0. Still, Harvick has won at Martinsville before and he finished fifth in this race last year. This season, Harvick has three top-5 finishes and I think he is set to break through with a win soon.
