Harvick is the defending champion of this race. He has an average finish of 14.692 over his career at Sonoma. His driver rating of 91.3 at the track ranks third in this weekend’s field. Harvick has been the top driver in the 2018 season. He holds a series-best five wins this year and has finished in the top five in six other races.
Kyle Busch is a two-time winner of this event, claiming the victory in 2015 and 2008. Over his career at Sonoma, he has an average finish of 17.077 and a driver rating of 90.7. This season, Busch has been right up there with Harvick for top driver in 2018. Busch has tallied four victories this year and also has five other top-3 finishes.
Truex Jr. was the 2013 victor of this race for his lone win at Sonoma. Over his career at the track, his average finish is just 12.0. His driver rating there is 88.6, which puts him sixth in this weekend’s field. Truex is having a strong year in his own right, but has been overshadowed by the success of Busch and Harvick. Truex Jr. owns two wins this season along with seven other top-5 finishes.
