Overton’s 225 Predictions
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series gets the racing weekend starting on Friday night with the running of the Overton’s 225. Here’s three drivers we think will compete for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Johnny Sauter is favored to win, as he is listed with +300 odds. Other short odds to win are Noah Gragson (+325), Brett Moffitt (+500) and Stewart Friesen (+700). The Overton’s 225 takes place tonight at 9PM ET from Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois.
58150 Johnny Sauter +300
Sauter is the defending champion of this race and having the best 2018 season of any regular. He has picked up four wins on the year while finishing in the top 5 in all but one race in 2018. Sauter’s consistency makes him hard to pass up. He has won nearly half of the race this year and there’s no reason he can’t win this race as well. He has finished in the top 5 of it the last three years.
58158 Stewart Friesen +700
Friesen is a nice option this weekend, as he has shown a nice bit of consistency as of late. Out of the last five races this year, he has finished ninth or better in four of them. That includes a runner-up finish at Texas and a third-place finish at Kansas. While this will be his first run at Chicago, I think he can handle the track just fine and continue his recent upswing.
58153 Brandon Jones +900
Jones isn’t a regular in the truck series, but he has been in number of races over the years. In 2018, Jones has only competed in two races. He finished ninth at Kansas and third at Charlotte. Out of his last nine races in the truck series, he has placed in the top 10 in all but one. I like what this young kid has been able to do. I think Friday could see him break through and earn his first win.
