U.S. Cellular 250 Picks
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will wave the green flag on the U.S. Cellular 250 this evening. Here’s the drivers we like to contend for the victory in this race.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Christopher Bell is the favorite, as he is getting +185 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Cole Custer (+425) and John Hunter Nemechek (+550). The U.S. Cellular 250 takes place today at 5PM ET from Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa and will air live on the NBC Sports Network.
56210 Christopher Bell +185
Bell has been on a nice run, winning the last two races in the Xfinity Series and he has also finished in the top 3 in four of the last five races. On the year, Bell has finished fourth or better in 10 races. Bell also finished strongly at Iowa a few weeks ago, placing second. I think he should have another strong run in a field without any Cup Series drivers in it.
56211 Cole Custer +425
Custer is winless this year, but he has been coming close to breaking through for many weeks. Out of the last eight races, Custer has finished in the top 5 in six of them. That includes a runner-up finish at Charlotte and a fourth-place finish at Iowa. He also finished fifth in this race last year, so his success at Iowa could help push him through tonight. I think this could be Custer’s first win of 2018.
56214 Elliott Sadler +800
Sadler is the lone driver in the field to have won this race. He claimed the victory in 2012 and finished third in 2016 as well. Sadler is winless on the year, but he has been running pretty consistently near the front of the pack. He has finished second three times in 2018 and has a total of 10 top-5 finishes. Sadler’s consistency should give him a chance and his experience at Iowa may be enough to push him to the win.
