Noco 400 Betting Predictions

One of NASCAR’s most popular drivers will return this weekend when Chase Elliott competes in the Noco 400 at Martinsville on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET. Elliott missed the last six races due to a snowboarding accident that fractured his leg. Find out if we have Elliott among our top three options to win today at Martinsville.

Noco 400 Betting Odds

William Byron is the current favorite at +400, followed by Tyler Reddick at +900. Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Chase Elliott are all +1000, respectively, while Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr. are +1200, respectively. Continuing with the odds, Christopher Bell and Ryan Preece are +1500, respectively, while Aric Almirola, Danuel Suarez and Joey Logano are +1900, respectively.

Noco 400 Betting Predictions

OPTION 1: Chase Elliott (+1000)

Am I buying into the narrative with the selection of Elliott? Sure, but here me out. Hendrick Motorsports has 27 wins at Martinsville, which is the most of any team at a single track in Cup Series history. Elliott is also one of eight Hendrick drivers to win at Martinsville, a list that also includes Jeff Gordon (9), Jimmie Johnson (9), Darrell Waltrip (4), Dale Earnhardt Jr., Alex Bowman, William Byron and Geoff Bodine. Elliott also won at the Martinsville in 2020 while facing elimination, then went on to win the championship. His 957 laps led at Martinsville is also the most of any track in his career and it was the site of his first Cup Series start in March of 2015.

OPTION 2: Denny Hamlin (+1000)

Surprisingly, Hamlin is not one of the 20 drivers that have recorded top-5 finishes so far this season. I see that trend ending today. Hamlin is a Virginia native and leads all active drivers with five Martinsville wins, which ranks ninth all-time at the “Paper Clip.” There are 179 drivers that have started at least 10 races at Martinsville in NASCAR Cup Series history and Hamlin ranks among the best in several categories, including win percentage at 14.7 (9th) and top-5 percentage (T-6th). Yes, he only has one win in his last 23 Martinsville starts and has finished outside the top 20 in three of his last six starts here since the start of 2020. That said, no driver has led more laps at the track over the last two seasons than Hamlin.

OPTION 3: Ty Gibbs (+6500)

After listing chalk for my other two selections, I wanted to provide a longshot. After having just one top-10 finish in his first 19 career races, Joe Gibbs Racing rookie Ty Gibbs has rattled off four straight top-10s entering today’s race. That’s the longest active top-10 streak in NASCAR. The kid has yet to turn 21 and in the Playoff Era (since 2004), only four other drivers have had five top-10 finishes before turning 21.
