Goody’s 500 Odds
NASCAR goes back-to-back short track racing this week when the Sprint Cup Series heads to the “Paperclip” half mile at Martinsville.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBG Global have made Jimmie Johnson the pre-qualifying favorite to win the 2009 Goody’s Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Johnson is currently listed at 3.5/1 odds to win the Goody’s Fast Relief 500.

In just 14 career Sprint Cup starts at Martinsville Johnson has one impressive resume with five wins, 10 top 5’s, 13 top 10’s and an average finish of 5.6. If that wasn’t good enough, in those 14 starts he has only finished outside the top 10 one time.
Right behind Johnson is his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon, who is currently listed at 4/1. Gordon leads all active drivers with seven Martinsville wins in 32 career starts. In that time he has also managed 20 top 5’s, 26 top 10’s and an average finish of just 6.9.
Last weeks Bristol winner Kyle Busch is also listed 4/1 according to SBG oddsmakers. Busch has never won at Martinsville in eight career starts and has three top 5’s, four top 10’s and an average finish of 18.2.
The defending race winner of this race, Denny Hamlin is currently listed 4.5/1. Hamlin has four top 5’s, six top 10’s and an average finish of 8.9.
