Samsung 500 Odds
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch the favorites to win this week’s 2009 Samsung 500 from Texas Motor Speedway.
Both drivers are currently 5/1 Samsung 500 odds-to-win-favorites according to Sportsbook.com oddsmakers.
Carl Edwards has won two of the last three Texas races and has three wins overall in eight career Sprint Cup starts. Edwards’ average finish is 13.9.
Kyle Busch has never won at Texas and has three top 5’s, four top 10’s and an average finish of 16.2 in eight career starts at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite lackluster stats, Busch is arguably the hottest driver in NASCAR right now and is certainly a threat to with this race.
Sprint Cup Series points leader Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch are currently listed at 7/1 odds to win the Samsung 500.
Texas Motor Speedway is currently the only track on the Sprint Cup circuit where Jeff Gordon has never won a race. In 16 career races at Texas, Gordon has six top 5’s, eight top 10’s and an average finish of 16.1. Gordon is also one of only a handful of drivers to have competed in all the Sprint Cup races at Texas Motor Speedway.
Rounding out the top 5 favorites to win the 2009 Samsung 500 is defending Sprint Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson. Johnson, who is currently fourth in 2009 Sprint Cup Series points has one win (2007), five top 5’s, eight top 10’s and an average finish of 9.1 in 11 career starts at Texas.
