Kobalt Tools 500 Odds
Betting odds have been released for the 2009 Kobalt Tools 500 from Atlanta Motor Speedway and Jimmie Johnson has been installed as the favorite.
Despite having a slow start to his 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season, oddsmakers still believe Johnson is the man to beat. Johnson opened betting on the 2009 Kobalt Tools 500 as a 4.25/1 favorite according to oddsmakers at online sports betting site SBG Global.com.
Even though Johnson has only been able to crack the top 20 once this season, (9th at California) his average finish in 15 career starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway is 9.1 with three wins, nine top 5’s and 10 top 10’s. He also won the 2007 Kobalt Tools 500.
Following Johnson in odds is Carl Edwards, who has been given 5/1 odds to win this weekend. The 2008 Kobalt Tools 500 winner, Kyle Busch, is listed right behind Johnson and Edwards at 6/1.
The 2009 Sprint Cup points leader, Jeff Gordon is a 7/1 long shot according to oddmakers. And despite posting wins at Daytona and Fontana this season, Matt Kenseth is an 8/1 long shot according to oddsmakers.
