Dickies 500 Odds
Texas, TX – For the second week in a row, oddsmakers have made Carl Edwards the favorite to win this weekend’s Sprint Cup Series race.
Oddsmakers from online sports books SBG Global and Sportsbook.com have made Edwards a 3.25/1 odds to win favorite for this weekends Dickies 500 from Texas Motor Speedway. Edwards was also the oddsmakers favorite last week for the Pep Boys 500 which he won.
In seven career starts at Texas, Edwards has two wins, two top 5’s, two top 10’s and an average finish of 15.7. Edwards is currently second in the Sprint Cup Standings, 183 points behind Jimmie Johnson.
Behind Edwards in the odds to win the 2008 Dickies 500 is Sprint Cup is point’s leader Jimmie Johnson. Johnson is currently listed as a 4/1 favorite according to oddsmakers.
Johnson only has one previous Texas win and that came in last years fall Texas race. Despite only winning once Johnson has a strong record at Texas. He has accumulated five top 5’s, eight top 10’s and an average finish of 8.5 in 10 career starts.
Rounding out the top five favorites to win the 2008 Dickies 500 from Texas Motor Speedway are Kyle Busch at 7/1, Greg Biffle at 8/1 and Matt Kenseth at 9/1.
Kyle Busch has never won at Texas in seven career starts. He has three top 5’s and an average finish of 17.7.
Greg Biffle is a previous Texas winner (2005) but overall has poor record at Texas with only two top 10’s and an average finish of 26.1 in 9 career starts.
In 13 career starts at Texas Motor Speedway Tony Stewart has one win, three top 5’s, eight top 10’s and an average finish of 13.0.
