Updated Daytona 500 Odds
The field is set for the 2016 Daytona 500. Here is an updated look at the odds to win this year’s big race.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is now a 7/2 favorite to win Sunday’s race. Other short odds to win are Jimmie Johnson (8/1) and Denny Hamlin (9/1). The Daytona 500 takes place on Sunday at 1:30PM ET from Daytona International Speedway.
Dale Jr. is starting from the third position on Sunday after winning his Can-Am Duel on Thursday. He has a driver rating of 90.3 at this track, which ranks fourth in the field. He is a two-time Daytona 500 winner that has finished third or better in five of the last six years.
Johnson is starting from the 26th position in this race. Johnson has a driver rating of 87.0 at Daytona, which ranks fifth in this field. He is a two-time Daytona 500 winner, lasting winning in 2013. He has finished in the top 5 the last three years.
Hamlin is starting 11th today. Hamlin’s driver rating at Daytona is 86.4, which ranks sixth in Sunday’s field. Hamlin is seeking his first Daytona 500 victory. His best finish was second in 2014. He has finished in the top 4 in three of the last four years.
