Wurth 400 Betting Predictions
OPTION 1: Kyle Larson (+490)
I know he’s the favorite – he’s also led more than 130 laps in four of his last eight races at Dover. In those eight races, Larson has finished outside the top six just twice, which includes a win and three other podium finishes. The other trend to keep in mind is that when Larson won at Martinsville two weeks ago, he gave Hendrick Motorsports its 28th win at the short track. That’s the most wins by a team at a single track in Cup Series history. What’s the second most? Hendrick’s 22 wins at Dover.
OPTION 2: Josh Berry (+3500)
Berry has two top-10 finishes in the Cup Series and has been hot on the Xfinity tour. He’ll step in for the injured Alex Bowman today and came up through the short track ranks, so I like him at Dover today. Berry won last year’s Dover race while leading 55 laps and finished second while leading 48 laps in 2021. I think he’s ready to step up in class.
OPTION 3: Chase Elliott (+700)
I’m going back to the well once more after Elliott returned with 10th and 12th place finishes at Martinsville and Talladega, respectively, over the last two weeks since returning from a broken leg that sidelined him for six races. He currently sits 31st in points, which is a far cry from being able to make the 16-driver playoff field on points. The good news is that that at Dover, he’s the defending winner with nine top-5 finishes in 12 career starts.
