Last week: Joey Logano won the season-opening Daytona 500. He surged ahead of the pack on a two-lap sprint to the finish and had command when a wreck behind him brought out a caution.
Fast facts: David Ragan is driving Kyle Busch’s No. 18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. Busch broke his right leg and left foot Saturday in a wreck in the Xfinity race at Daytona. … Regan Smith will be back in Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 41 Chevrolet. Smith was 16th at Daytona in place of suspended driver Kurt Busch. NASCAR suspended Busch last week after a Delaware judge said the 2004 series champion almost surely choked and beat his former girlfriend at Dover International Speedway last fall. … Jeff Gordon made his series debut in November 1992 at the track. He’s retiring after the season. … The track had two Cup races a year from its opening in 1960 to 2010. Speedway Motorsports Inc. shifted one of the races to Kentucky Speedway.

Last week: Ryan Reed won the season-opening race at Daytona for his first career national series victory. Kyle Bucch broke his right leg and left foot in a late wreck.
Fast facts: Erik Jones is driving Busch’s No. 54 car. Jones is racing full-time this season in the Truck series in Kyle Busch Motorsports’ No. 4 Toyota. The 18-year-old Jones had three victories in 12 starts last season, splitting time with Busch in the No. 51 truck. … Harvick, Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth are in the field.
