Race distance: 263 miles, 500 laps.
Last year: Denny Hamlin won the rain-delayed race, giving up the lead to take four tires, then rallying from ninth in a pair of two-lap sprints. Joey Logano, Hamlin’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, was second. Hamlin also won the October race at Martinsville for his third straight victory at his home-state track.
Last week: Kevin Harvick won at Fontana, passing Jimmie Johnson on the final turn for his 15th Sprint Cup victory. Johnson was second, followed by Kyle Busch.
Fast facts: The race is the sixth of the season. Trevor Bayne won the season-opening Daytona 500, Jeff Gordon won at Phoenix, Carl Edwards at Las Vegas and Busch at Bristol. … Hamlin is attempting to match Fred Lorenzen’s record of four straight Cup victories at Martinsville. Lorenzen accomplished the feat from 1963-65. … Johnson has six victories at the track, winning five times in a six-race stretch from 2006-09. … Hamlin, Johnson and Busch have combined to win the last 15 short-track races. … Richard Petty won a record 15 times at Martinsville, the only remaining venue from NASCAR’s inaugural 1949 season. … Mark Martin is making his 800th Cup start.

Last year: Kevin Harvick pulled away from teammate Ron Hornaday Jr. on a restart with 19 laps to go.
Last race: Sprint Cup driver Kasey Kahne won at Darlington Raceway on March 12, driving the No. 18 Toyota for owner Kyle Busch. Kahne held off defending series champion Todd Bodine after a late restart.
Fast facts: Busch won the Phoenix race Feb. 25 for his 25th victory in 87 career Trucks starts. He had eight victories in 16 starts last year. … In October at the track, Hornaday raced to the last of his series-record 47 victories.

Last event: Del Worsham beat seven-time Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher on March 13 in the Gatornationals to become the 15th driver to win Top Fuel and Funny Car events. Mike Neff (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won.
Fast facts: Force also won in October at the track. … The event is the third of the season. … In February in the season-opening Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., Morgan Lucas won the Top Fuel final, beating Shawn Langdon. Robert Hight (Funny Car) and Line (Pro Stock) also won.
