Last week: Clint Bowyer raced to his first victory on a road course, and first with Michael Waltrip Racing, leading 70 of 112 laps at Sonoma.
Fast facts: Points leader Matt Kenseth is leaving Roush Fenway Racing at the end of the season. He will be replaced in the No. 17 Ford – the car he has driven for all but one of his 452 starts – by Nationwide champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Kenseth is believed to be headed to Joe Gibbs Racing, either in Joey Logano’s No. 20 Toyota or a fourth unannounced team. Kenseth won the season-opening Daytona 500 for his 22nd victory. … Twelve drivers have won this season, the most through 16 races since 2003. Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowski, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin each have two victories. … Keselowski also is driving in the Nationwide and Truck races. … Michael Waltrip, from Owensboro, Ky., will make his second start of the season, driving his own No. 55 Toyota.

Fast facts: Cup driver Joey Logano leads the series with five victories in 11 starts in Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 Toyota. He has won his last two starts and four of his last five. … Elliott Sadler leads the season standings, a point ahead of Austin Dillon. … The series will return to the track in September for the Kentucky 300.

Last year: Mike Neff raced to the fourth of his five 2011 Funny Car victories. Del Worsham won in Top Fuel, Greg Anderson topped the Pro Stock class, and LE Tonglet took the Pro Stock Motorcycle competition.
Last event: Seven-time Top Fuel champion Tony Schumacher ended a 32-race winless streak, winning the Thunder Valley Nationals on June 17 in Bristol, Tenn. Ron Capps topped the Funny Car field, and Mike Edwards won the Pro Stock competition.
Fast facts: Robert Hight tops the Funny Car standings, 73 points ahead of Capps. Hight won four straight events from February to April. … Schumacher leads the Top Fuel standings, 40 points ahead of Massey. Massey has three victories in the first 10 events of the season.
