CAR–F1-VETTEL’S SURGE
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Should Sebastian Vettel clinch a third consecutive drivers’ championship, his fearless drive at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix might just be the reason. He didn’t win Sunday’s race – that was left to 2007 champion and former NASCAR driver Kimi Raikkonen. But the 25-year-old German salvaged a third-place finish after starting dead last for breaching FIA rules during qualifying. The podium finish kept him ahead of rival Fernando Alonso by 10 points with two races remaining. By Michael Casey. Will be sent at noon.
