RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Brad Keselowski says his return to Richmond International Raceway will be bittersweet this weekend, even though he’s the runaway leader in the Nationwide Series.
That’s because Friday night’s race will be the third of four events this season in which the teams will use the new version of the cars that will be raced full time next season.
Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and 39 other drivers and teams took advantage of a testing day on the 0.75-mile oval Thursday. Keselowski led 189 of 252 laps at RIR in his spring victory.
Harvick says fans like being able to tell the cars apart according to manufacturer.
The new-look cars are meant to look like the showroom versions of the Ford Mustang, the Dodge Challenger, the Chevrolet Impala and the Toyota Camry.
