PHOENIX (AP) – Typically busy even when she’s not racing, Danica Patrick had a relatively quiet offseason.
Now, with Daytona just a couple of weeks away, she’s ready to punch the gas pedal heading into her second season as a two-circuit driver.
The first woman to win an IndyCar race, Patrick ran a part-time schedule in NASCAR last year, getting mixed results as she tried to get a feel for driving stock cars.
No longer a fendered rookie, Patrick is aiming for better results in NASCAR as well as turning some of those high finishes she had in IndyCar last year into wins.
Patrick spent part of her offseason working on three new Super Bowl commercials and raising awareness for COPD.
